Street Knight Reading a Letter, 1854

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of a young otokodate or street knight reading a long letter, pausing to look up with a surprised frown. He wears a blue and white kimono patterned with writing over a red under robe, a shakuhachi flute tucked at his back. A wisteria vine with white blossoms frames the sky above. An attractive design with an expressive figure.

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/4"
