Cormorant Fishing at Night

Comments - Fantastic scene of men fishing at night by torchlight, using cormorants tied to cords to catch the fish, a time-honored fishing method in Japan. Yellow and red flames rise from the fire baskets, leaving shimmering reflections in the water as pleasure boats sail by filled with passengers watching the fishermen. Printed signature within image, numbered 4/300 in pencil in lower right corner. A fantastic print that would make a lovely framed presentation. A very rare Tokuriki subject.

Artist - Tokuriki (1902 - 1999)

Image Size - 9 5/8" x 14 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight thinning and paper remnants on reverse at top corners from previous mounting. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
