Samurai and Supernatural Flames

Comments - Striking kabuki portrait of a samurai holding up an object with writing on it, wrapped in dark blue silk. He grins as he looks up at it, as red flames dance about the night sky, a sign of a supernatural presence. He wears a dark blue kimono patterned with yellow swirling water over a red under robe, his two swords at his side and his hair tied back in a thick ponytail. Tall grasses fill the background beneath a dark red sky and the magic foxfires. Beautiful color with fine bokashi shading and a dusting of mica in the sky.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 9 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Small hole, repaired. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
