Zennojo, a Filial Child of Shinano Province, Dreams of His Father's Crimes

Comments - Fantastic scene of Emma, the god of the underworld, and several demons showing the young boy Zennojo his father's crimes in a former life. The small child kneels on the floor, excitedly gesturing as a shadowy image of two men fighting, one ready to strike the other down with a sword, appears in a magic mirror held by a red-skinned spirit. A horned demon with long gray hair points at the scene as Emma leans over his shoulder, dressed in a dark green robe and tall black cap. After seeing the crimes, the loyal son prayed for his father's successful recovery from illness. An incredible design with marvelous detail in the underworld creatures. A great choice for a collector interested in supernatural subjects. Includes delicate allover cloth embossing in the background. This impression is from a posthumous edition published by Matsuki Heikichi between 1893 - 1895.
