Bando Hikosaburo as Marubashi Wataru - Terrific kabuki portrait of Bando Hikosaburo as Wataru throwing a tobacco set in the air, pieces of charcoal flying out of the overturned box at upper right. He scowls angrily as he looks up, his other hand gripping a polearm. His kimono features bands of green and yellow floral print and a purple geometric pattern, worn over a red under robe with a blue collar, the sleeves tied back with a blue sash. A dynamic image with the handle of the pole arm creating a diagonal that leads the eye up across the page.
