Ikoma Kojiro in Bed, 1856

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of Ikoma Kojiro sitting up in bed during an illness, a long letter trailing over his knee. His hair is disheveled, and he has sash tied around his forehead and a beautiful robe patterned with feathers draped over his shoulders. A love folding screen decorated with woodblock prints provides privacy for the bed. A handsome design with wonderful detail in the interior setting and furnishings.
