Series; Twelve Views of Kyoto

Twelve Views of Kyoto - Beautiful shin hanga design by Taizo Minakawa from his series "Twelve Views of Kyoto," published by Unsodo in 1964. Minakawa earned fame as a dyer, producing textile designs using wax resist, and also created a number of woodblock prints. His work has been exhibited around the world and published in several books. Minakawa incorporates simplified blocks of color and strong black outlines with a handsome use of negative space to create a bold modern style. His striking designs are a terrific choice to collect or display.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top corners from previous mounting. Slight rippling at edges from printing process. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
