Nakamura Shikan IV as Otomo Kuronushi, 1872 - Great kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan IV as the villain Otomo Kuronushi, who has been working as a barrier guard under the name Sekibei. In the play commonly known as "The Snow Bound Barrier of Love," the drunken Sekibei attempts to chop down a cherry tree and finds himself confronted with the beautiful courtesan Sumizone, who is actually the spirit of the cherry tree. A great expressive figure, detailed with embossing on the white under robe.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. A couple wormholes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few ripples at edge. Please see photos for details.
