by Shunsen (1762 - circa 1830)
Comments - Charming kakemono or vertical diptych image of a beauty holding a handsomely dressed doll, smiling happily. She wears a green kimono patterned with bird cages, flowing water, and bush clover over a red under robe, tied with a rust print obi, one bare foot peaking from beneath her robes. Her hair is pulled back into a bun with wings at the sides, adorned with a comb, ribbons, and decorative floral hairpins. An attractive Edo era beauty design.
