Thunder in Farming Country

Comments - Charming scene of a farmer and two children running for shelter during a sudden rainstorm. The girl covers her hands with her ear, frightening by a clap of thunder as lightning zigzags across the sky. A small boy uses the large leaf of a butterbur plant as a rain hat, while the man holds tight to his woven straw hat as he runs. Lovely color in the lush greenery, which has a very painterly feel. The raindrops are rendered in a subtle metallic silver pigment. An interesting design, published by Kyoto Hanga-in.
