Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Onoe Kikugoro III as Dairyo Hisayoshi, 1838

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of Onoe Kikugoro III as the yakko or footman Dairyo (?) Hisayoshi in the play "Sanmon hitome Senbon." He looks to the side with a worried expression, holding a woodblock portrait of a warrior in the mouth of a large container at his side. A tea whisk, tea caddy, and spoon lie on the floor before him. An expressive figure with a nicely detailed setting.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 10" + left margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Folds at corners, vertical fold at side. Stitching holes at side, repaired. Slight creasing and soiling. Please see photos for details.
