by Yoshitsuya (1822 - 1866)
Comments - Interesting giga or comic print of two seated men. The fellow on the right has a shamisen for a head, and he stares at his companion as he holds out his hand. The man at left represents Sojobo, the king of the mythical tengu, with a huge head and an oversized mouth and nose that look even larger when compared with the tiny black cap he is wearing. An amusing design and a great example of Japanese comic prints.
