The Tokugawa Princess Yohime, 1887 - Lovely image of the young Princess Yohime, the daughter of the eleventh Shogun Tokugawa Ienari, tying her husband's sandal as he sits in the doorway of a home. He looks down at her affectionately as she crouches beside him, absorbed in her task. Stepping stones lead to the entrance, and falling cherry blossom petals can be seen through the open window inside. Beautifully detailed with a faint burnished patterns on the black robe and the black obi, embossing on the white kimono collar and the sash around his waist, and intricate dotted patterns on the fabric of the husband's under robe and pants. A charming design of an intimate moment between the couple.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few small wormholes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing. Please see photos for details.
