Young Samurai Kakemono

Comments - Handsome vertical diptych or kakemono of a young samurai with a fan, looking back over his shoulder with a smile. He wears a sheer black kimono over a maple leaf kimono tucked into striped pans. His mon or family crest appears on the shoulders and sleeve of the coat. A terrific design, beautifully composed and drawn.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 27 3/4" x 9 3/8" + margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels. A few tears at edges, thinning along crease, a few holes, repaired. Toning, slight soiling, a few creases and small spots. Please see photos for details.
