Series; One Hundred Famous Metropolitan Views, 1860

One Hundred Famous Metropolitan Views - Published in 1860, "One Hundred Famous Metropolitan Views" features scenes in and around Kyoto by a variety of artists. The series is not well documented, but works by Yoshitoyo and Umekawa Tokyo are known. Umekawa Tokyo also contributed designs to the multi-artist series "One Hundred Views of Kyoto" around the same time period. These charming designs include scenes throughout the year, from blossoming cherry trees in spring to colorful fall foliage in autumn. Many images depict temples and shrines. An interesting and unusual series. The first time we've had designs from this group.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. Slight soiling, a few creases. Some prints have a couple holes or small losses at edges, repaired. Please see photos for details.
