Kacho-e (Birds and Flowers) - This lovely reprint set features some of Hiroshige's most well-known kacho-e or birds and flowers subjects in the unusual o-tanzaku or large poem slip format. Attractively composed to fit the vertical format, each includes a verse near the top of the image. The subjects include "White Heron and Iris," "Kingfisher and Hydrangeas," and "Sparrows and Camellia in Snow," among others.

This Complete Boxed Set - Published by the venerable Adachi Publisher of Tokyo, this compete boxed set includes 12 woodblock reprints in a traditional cloth covered case, along with table of contents and a pamphlet of descriptions in both English and Japanese. Each print is mounted at two points along the left edge to a windowed viewing folder, and has the Adachi Publisher seal in ink on the reverse. These designs are beautifully printed and detailed, with lovely color, fine detail, and soft bokashi shading. The "White Heron" also features embossing in the feathers. A great opportunity to acquire a fine reprint set of Hiroshige's outstanding kacho-e subjects, in a handsome presentation as originally issued by the publisher.
