Illustrations of Chinese Poems Chosen from Toshisen's Book- Handsome, complete Volume 4from Hokusai's five-volumes series " Illustrations of Chinese Poems Chosen from Toshisen's Book " (Ehon Toshisen shichigonritsu). Published in 1833, these prints illustrate famous Chinese poems. Hokusai's black and white woodblocks are beautifully detailed, creating lyrical and evocative settings. Hokusai illustrated more than 250 books in his lifetime, and these interesting scenes display his masterful compositions and skillful draftsmanship. Volume 4 includes 13 woodblocks, comprised of 6 diptychs and 1 single panel subject. A rarely seen series and a nice opportunity to collect an original Hokusai book.
