Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Kambara Sashichi, 1849

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Kambara Sashichi looking over his shoulder with a worried smile, his eyes wide as he tucks one hand inside his robe. He wears a brown striped kimono over a red under robe tied with a black obi, his hair pulled back into a topknot with a few hairs sticking out on either side. Lanterns on poles behind him feature scenes, including a man balancing a rock upon his tongue. A nice scene from the drama "Kotoba no hana momiji no Yozakari," with an interesting format.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight thinning at corner, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a couple wrinkles, a few creases at edges. Please see photos for details.
