Comments - Artist Akitoyo Terada was known for his Noh theater woodblocks published by Uchida in the 1950s. His figures are expressively rendered with delicate detail in the masks and sumptuous, beautifully colored costumes. This dramatic image of a red lion dancer from the play "Shakkyo" features beautiful gold mica detail on the pants and mask to create a striking image. A nice subject for collector interested in Noh theater.
