Series; Six Jewel Rivers in Various Provinces
1891 Memorial Edition
A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction
Chofu Jewel River in Musashi Province - Lovely design of women fulling cloth along the shore of the Chofu Jewel River in Musashi Province. The women are pounding cloth with wooden mallets, a process that entangles the fibers to create a stronger fabric. Another woman swirls cloth in the river, a fish swimming in the shallow water nearby. The calm blue water of the river winds its way into the distance, Mt. Fuji rising beyond. A handsome print from the 1891 Memorial Edition.
