A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Sunrise on New Year's Day at Susaki, 1853 - Handsome scene of women out early in the morning on New Year's Day at Susaki. A rosy glow spreads along the horizon as the sun begins to rise, fresh snow covering the ground. Two beauties hurry across the wooden bridge, bundled up against the brisk winter air with coats and scarves, while a woman passes them going the other direction, pausing to look back. An interesting winter subject. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.
