A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Norinoshi (Teacher of Rites), Supplement 4 - Terrific kabuki scene of actor Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Oniwaka Maru (the childhood name of Benkei) battling an attacker who was trying to tie him up with a rope. Gripping a large blade, the young man steps on the back of his opponent as he sprawls on the ground, his feet kicking up in the air behind him. The sleeves of his outer gray kimono are pushed down to the waist, revealing a red under robe tucked into full blue hakama pants. In the background, several men look on in amazement. A great design with expressive faces and fine detail in the hair.
