Nakamura Shikan as Kumagai Naozane, 1862

Comments - Bold kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan as Minamoto general Kumagai Naozane. The agitated warrior waves his folding fan over his head as he grimaces angrily, gripping the striped rein of his horse with his other hand. He wears a fine suit of armor over a red kimono patterned with dragons and colorful swirling clouds. A great design, beautifully detailed.

Image Size - 14" x 9 5/8"
