Nikko by Tokuriki (1902 - 1999)

Original Tokuriki (1902 - 1999) Japanese Woodblock Print
Nikko

Comments - Beautiful view of the Shinkyo or Sacred Bridge that leads to the entrance of the shrine at Nikko. The red-lacquered railings provide a bright contrast to the deep blue-green water of the river below and the dark foliage of the forest at right. A lone fisherman in a straw raincoat with his pole of his shoulder walks along the road at right as a light rain slants across the gray sky. A lovely, rare design in the large format, double oban size. A terrific choice for display. Published by Uchida.
