Worried Man Carrying a Wooden Pail by Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Original Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861) Japanese Woodblock Print
Worried Man Carrying a Wooden Pail

A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Worried Man Carrying a Wooden Pail - Interesting kabuki portrait of a worried man carrying a lidded wooden pail with writing on it that matches the writing on the collars of his short blue coat. He frowns as he looks up, his eyes wide with alarm. A rectangular inset above shows a Chinese beauty playing a stringed instrument. Behind her, a man in a lion dancer's costume with a flowing red wig dances about and another fellow waves a pole with a red sash attached to it. An intriguing subject.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Tear and small losses, a few holes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling and creasing, a few wrinkles, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
