Original Rissho II Japanese Woodblock Print
Shokon Shrine atop Kudanzaka, Tokyo, 1871

Comments - Lively view of Shokon Shrine atop Kudanzaka in Tokyo. The area is crowded with traffic, including rickshaws, a horse-drawn wagon driven by a coachman in a red uniform, pedestrians, laborers, and riders on horseback. A large stone tower in the center is topped with a weathervane, but each direction is marked "N." A colorful striped flag and streamers flutter in the wind at upper right, while the snow-capped peak of Mt. Fuji can be seen at upper left. A fascinating image with wonderful detail.

Artist - Rissho II

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 28 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. Vertical centerfold in each panel. Small loss at edge, a few wormholes, repaired. Creasing and wrinkling, slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
