Wakana no ge (New Herbs, Part II), Chapter 35 - Attractive portrait of Yae, the wife of the samurai Sakuramaru, kneeling beneath a flowering cherry tree. She looks up with a smile, holding a wooden pestle in one hand, a mortar on the ground nearby. She wears a tan kimono patterned with flowing water and tie-dyed blossoms, tied with a black obi, a bamboo print apron tied protectively over her robe. The inset above shows a kitten about to pounce on a football. Nicely detailed with soft bokashi shading in the background.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Soiling and toning. Rubbing and creasing. Some small losses, repaired. Some paper remnants from previous backing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
