Scene from Shubu-dachi Tsui no Kyokaku, 1865 - Dramatic kabuki double portrait from the play "Shubu-dachi Tsui no Kyokaku" featuring Nakamura Tsuruzo I as Yuhari Nijiro and Ichimura Kakitsu IV as Tsumakasa Koyojiro. At upper right, Nijiro stares ahead with an angry grimace as he grips a blood-stained sword. Koyojiro sneers as he grabs hold of his attacker's arm, blood soaking his blue and white summer cotton kimono and dripping down his forearm. Nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair and bokashi shading in the background.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Block misregistered. A few wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and whitish marks. Please see photos for details.
