A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Nakamura Utaemon IV as Both Kajiwara Genta Kagekiyo and the Heron Maiden, 1839 - Interesting kabuki scene of the enraged samurai Kajiwara Genta Kagekiyo kneeling beside the Heron Maiden, grimacing with furrowed brows as he clutches his fist to his chest. He holds a woven hat in his other hand, and wears a kimono patterned with waterwheels. The beauty looks down at him with a dismayed expression, her mouth slightly agape. She carries an umbrella and has a white cloth draped over her head. Nakamura Utaemon IV plays both roles in a scene from "Iwai uta Soga no kaomise." Nice expressive figures.
