Akabane Bridge and Suiten Shrine in Shiba, circa 1840 - 1842 - Lovely view of Akabane Bridge in Shiba, with groups of women crossing over the arched wooden structure. At left, the highest fire tower in Edo rises above a tree-covered hill, the street below lined with daimyo's mansions and crowded with pedestrians. Softly shaded clouds border the foreground and drift above the rooftop. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection. A handsome composition.
