Goyo Studio Reprints - Hashiguchi Goyo is the undisputed master of the 20th century shin-hanga movement. A secondary part of his career was reprinting beautiful old ukiyo-e designs from the golden age of the Japanese woodblock print. Between 1918 and 1920, much of Goyo’s artistic work was devoted to creating these incredible woodblock reprints of classic ukiyo-e prints. Each image was painstakingly copied from an original and stamped with the Goyo circular seal. Line by line, color by color, the prints were recreated in Goyo’s studio to perfectly emulate these masterworks of ukiyo-e. Goyo took pride in this work and the release of his reprints was met with great acclaim.

Today, original Goyo reprints are highly sought after by collectors and rare to find. This is an exceptional opportunity!

The Yodo River - Lovely view of a ferry crossing the Yodo River at night. The boat is crowded with passengers as two boatmen pole the craft along the water. A full moon glows overhead with a cuckoo flying in front of it, as misty clouds drift past. A great design with beautiful color and soft bokashi shading.
