Comments - Handsome scene of Minamoto no Yoritomo and his men leaving Kamakura on their way into Mutsu to kill his brother Yoshitsune, who stood in his way of becoming shogun. Yoritomo rides on a dappled horse at right, surrounded by retainers on foot and following by a large fringed standard topped with the paulownia crest of the Minamoto. He wears a fine suit of armor and a horned battle helmet with a dragon, a quiver of arrows at his back. Two other generals ride on horseback, looking fierce and determined. The ocean can be seen beyond the pine trees, with white sails dotting the horizon. Nicely detailed.
