Series; One-to-One Combats at the Great Battle of Kawanakajima

Muto Kihei versus Oni Kojima Yataro, 1857 - Great image of Muto Kihei and Oni (Demon) Kojima Yataro locked in combat during the Battle of Kawanakajima. Forcing Kihei to his knees on the rocky shore, Yataro pull's his enemy's head back by his hair as he grabs his wrist to push away his sword. Yataro's personal standard of a leering, horned demon flies above his back. A rivulet winds through the scene into the background, where a samurai runs forward with his spear. Wonderful detail and expressive faces in this striking warrior print.
