Series; Selections for the Ten Stems

Fire on the Ships: Shirato Hikoshichiro, 1860 - Fantastic image of the warrior Shirato Hikoshichiro standing on the shore, watching as ships burn out at sea. Gripping a spear in one hand, he shields his eyes with his other hand, a determined expression on his face as flames and orange smoke billow form the boats, the smoke reflected on the water below. He wears a fine suit of armor and a battle helmet topped with a demon head and horns. A dramatic image, beautifully composed and shaded. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection. A rarely seen design that would make an impressive framed display.

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 9 3/4" + left margin as shown
