Original Edo era Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty and Elderly Man, 1856

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a beauty with a fan taking a stroll, while an elderly man appears in the forest behind her, carrying a rustic walking stick and holding a string of prayer beads. He grimaces as he stares ahead, his eyes wide. An unusual setting, nicely detailed.

Artist - Edo era artist (not read)

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top corners from previous mounting. Slight soiling and rubbing, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
