Young Man Holding a Fan Kakemono

Comments - Terrific original Eizan kakemono or vertical diptych of a young man holding a folding fan decorated with writing in kanji. He carries a couple of chrysanthemums in his other hand, the showy blossoms atop long stems. He wears a black coat over a tan striped kimono, a small tobacco pouch hanging at his waist and a sword at his side. A handsome Edo era design and a great choice for framing.

Artist - Eizan (1787 - 1867)

Image Size - 29 1/4" x 9 5/8" + margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels, backed with paper. Tear at edge, small loss at edge, a couple holes, repaired. Toning, slight soiling, wrinkling at bottom edge of top panel. Please see photos for details.
