Sanbaso Dancer - Handsome kabuki portrait of an actor performing the sanbaso, a traditional celebratory dance that commonly opens the kabuki season or a Noh theater performance. He throws his arms above his shoulders, his kimono patterned with outstretched wings, grinning as he looks to the side. He wears a tall black and yellow striped hat with a red sun on it, and a light blue kamishimo decorated with pine sprigs, bamboo leaves, plum blossoms, and a crane. A decorative border at top and bottom simulated a black lacquer frame. An attractive design with vibrant color, nicely detailed with burnishing on the black stripes of the hat and faint embossing on the white sash tied around the waist.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 1/4"
