Original Kunichika (1835 - 1900) Japanese Woodblock Print
Alarmed Man, 1867

Comments - Bold kabuki portrait of an alarmed man, leaning forward with a surprised expression as he takes a toothpick from his mouth, his eyes wide. He has a striped robe draped over one shoulder of his blue and white print kimono, and a dotted cloth around his neck. A band shaded from blue to white to green with a tie-dyed geometric pattern runs across the top, with a red "Akashiya" crest in the center and "Akashiya" written at left. A handsome design, nicely detailed with burnishing on the black kimono collars.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight toning, a few creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
