Warrior in a Dragon Kimono

Comments - Striking kabuki portrait of a warrior holding a flute wrapped in a cloth, a tight-lipped frown on his face, his brows furrowed. He wears a red kimono with a bold pattern of a stylized dragon, his hair sticking up wildly around his head. The large figure is nicely set off by the deep blue background. A bold design.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse from previous mounting. Slight separation at ends of vertical fold at side, small thinning spot, repaired. Creasing and wrinkling, slight soiling, a few marks. Please see photos for details.
