Five Daughters of Flowers and Incense, 1884

Comments - Attractive portrait of five kabuki beauties set against a deep red background. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Sadanji as Okoma, Onoe Kikugoro as Owan, Takaya Takasuke as Oshichi, Nakamura Fukusuke as Osome, and Nakamura Shikan as Konami. A shaped inset behind each figure features a flower, including chrysanthemums, peonies, and plum and cherry blossoms. A handsome design in an interesting format.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Slight thinning at edges, a couple holes, repaired. Creasing, slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
