Mist: Ichikawa Sadanji as Hoshikage Tsuchiemon, 1876 - Great kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Sadanji as Hoshikage Tsuchiemon, grimacing angrily as he holds his sword upright over his shoulder, the blade streaked with blood. He wears a dark purple kimono with an interesting pattern of connecting yellow dots similar to constellations and swirling clouds outlined in yellow with embossed lines on the white centers. A blossoming cherry tree frames the night sky, and a few petals drift down over the scene. The first time we've offered this rare Yoshitoshi subject.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse from previous backing. Small wormhole, tiny losses at edge, repaired. Slight soiling and creasing, wrinkle at edge. Please see photos for details.
