Series; Opened Fans Blooming with Flowery Words

Opened Fans Blooming with Flowery Words - Handsome design from the collaborative series "Opened Fans Blooming with Flowery Words" featuring kabuki portraits by Kunichika and Kuniteru II. Each print sets a large, half-length actor against a shaded night sky, with a folding fan shaped inset containing a verse. The expressive figures are nicely drawn and detailed with fine line work in the hair. The first time we've come across this interesting kabuki series. A nice choice for a Kunichika collector.
