Netting Fish in Summer at Jibiki, circa 1922

Comments - Terrific shin hanga image of fishermen pulling in a net along the shore at Jibiki. Several men wade through the surf while others carry the line along the beach, straining to pull in the large net. White-capped waves lap gently at the shore, and boats can be seen on the deeper water beyond, their sails reflected in shimmering white. A lovely composition with pine trees framing the view at left and the shore curving around to the right with cliffs in the distance. Beautiful color and detail. Works by Kawatsura Yoshio (also known as Raizan) are rarely seen in the market. A great choice for display.

Artist - Kawatsura Yoshio (1880 - 1963)

Image Size - 10" x 14 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A couple light creases at edges, small paper inclusion. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
