Comments - Great kabuki portrait of Sawamura Tossho as Ono Monnosuke, standing outside a doorway, grimacing angrily as he grips a lantern in one hand and the hilt of his sword in the other. He wears a black hood and a black coat with a beautiful burnishing geometric pattern over a deep blue kimono tucked into print pants. A terrific, atmospheric design with the large figure set against the geometry of the wooden grid and a dark night sky.
