Series; The Eight Virtues, 1856

Duty: Izumi Saburo Tadahira - Handsome image of the warrior Izumi Saburo Tadahira tying a white sash around his waist. He stares ahead with a determined expression, wearing a fine suit of armor and a white band around his head. His wife, Fujinoe, kneels at his side with a naginata in hand, ready to defend the fortress. Through the doorway behind them, a castle wall can be seen at left and the banners of approaching troops at center right. A great design from this rarely seen series, nicely composed and detailed.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. Small tear at edge, a few holes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
