Prince Genji on Moonlit Night

Series; Moon, Snow, and Flowers

Prince Genji on Moonlit Night - Terrific full-length portrait of the young Prince Genji standing inside a palace, with a view of the full moon framed by graceful willow branches. He smiles happily, holding out his fan as the shy beauty at left hands him a bouquet of morning glories. He wears a purple and white checked kimono with a leafy pattern, the white areas delicately embossed. A pipe and small portable brazier rest on the floor beside a softly glowing lamp on a stand. Other women watch the exchange from behind fine reed panels at eight side of the room. A charming image with an attractive setting and wonderful detail. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three attached panels, backed with paper. Vertical folds. Small loss at edge, a couple wormholes, a couple small tears, repaired. Slight toning, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
