Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Sunset Glow at Jungai (Jungai sekisho) - Striking view of Jungai in the Ryukyu Islands at sunset. The rocky peninsula seems to float above the water, a walled fortress atop the peak and a torii gate down below at right. An intriguing design, nicely detailed with fine bokashi shading and embossing on the white clouds drifting across the scene. The first time we've offered this subject in reprint.
