Samurai Fighting, 1854

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of two samurai fighting. The fellow above has grabbed hold of his attacker's spear, forcing him down and kneeling atop his shoulder. He grimaces angrily, his hair sticking out wildly around his head, the sleeves of his white under robe tied back with a sash. A handsome design with expressive figures and fine line work in the hair.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 10" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Stitching holes at side, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
