Comments - Fantastic kabuki portrait of the otokodate or street knight Danshichi Kurobei in the play commonly known as "Natsu Matsuri" (Summer Festival). He is shown here in a fight, drawing his sword back as he leans forward with a tight-lipped frown, his long hair falling over his shoulders. He has an impressive upper body tattoo of a dragon, swirling thunder clouds, and red flames, and his kimono features an unusual assortment of sea life, including an octopus, a lobster, and fish. The figure is set off by a boldly checked background, which adds graphic interest. A terrific design and a great choice for a collector interested in tattoo prints.
