Comments - Interesting kabuki scene featuring Nakamura Shikan in a dual role as both the beauty Omiwa at left and the evil daimyo Iruka at right. In the center, Bando Hikosaburo appears as the fisherman Fukashichi, who has come to deliver poisoned sake n an attempt to assassinate Iroka. Here, Iruka grimaces at him with rage, his hair sticking up wildly atop his head and his teeth dyed black, a custom practiced by some nobleman. He wears a striking red coat with a pleated collar and a dragon on the shoulder. Fukushichi stares at him with a tight-lipped frown, while Omiwa smiles happily as she looks over her shoulder. A handsome design with large colorful figures set off by a deep blue background, framed with a green border.
